Information Systems & Knowledge Management  Unit  

The IS & KM Unit is headed by Jaap Kügel.

This Unit provides technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology (IT) initiatives that improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development in a constantly changing, competitive Medical Schemes environment.

We lead the Council for Medical Schemes in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralized business operations and achieve more cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations.

Specific Strategic Objectives and activities include:

  • Development and maintenance of stable and efficient database solutions.
  • Development and maintenance of reliable Business Intelligence Reports.
  • Development and maintenance of a fully interactive Internet Website.
  • Development and maintenance of a fully interactive collaborative Intranet Website.
  • Development and maintenance of relevant IT Policies and Procedures. Ongoing development and maintenance of the IT Infrastructure which includes server farms, workstations, end-user support, software, disaster recovery, backup, environmental monitoring, LAN, etc.
