RSS FEEDS The Council for Medical Schemes wishes to announce the introduction of Really Simple Syndication as a means of "pushing" the latest breaking news to our stakeholders. You will need to download and install a small application called a RSS Reader or "aggregator" in order to receive your RSS Feeds from us. There are many free readers available for download. We recommend an excellent and simple to use reader called SharpReader. This reader allows you to fully customize your feeds and not be dependent on any specific feed and will allow to listen to Podcasts, once they become available. SharpReader can be downloaded from:  http://www.sharpreader.net/ Once you have downloaded this reader or if you already have a reader installed, you can manually add the Council for Medical Schemes feed by using the following address:  Http://www.medicalschemes.com/rss.xml Click here for instructions on how to set up SharpReader to receive feeds from our website once installed. Alternatively, if you use the latest version of Internet Explorer (Version 7), or Firefox, simply click on the RSS Feed Icon on the browser bar, which should be lit up: . This will take you to the RSS feeds page where you can simply add the feed to your RSS Feed favourites. Click on the RSS Feed Button below, to view our current RSS Feeds. ________________________________________________________________________________________ PODCASTS We are also very excited about the introduction of Podcasting. Podcasting is the syndication of audio files using RSS. Podcasting works the same as a standard RSS feed reader or news aggregator, the only difference is that the feed you subscribe to contains an audio file in it. Instead of reading content in your RSS feed reader or aggregator, you can listen to the contents of your feed using a reader or aggregator that supports podcasting, or you can listen to them on an iPod or similar device. Simply put, Podcasting is online audio content that is delivered via an RSS feed. Many people liken podcasting to radio on demand. We will soon be featuring regular podcasts!
